Asus 6Z With Rotating Camera, Snapdragon 855 SoC Launches In India: Price, Specs
Asus 6Z aka ZenFone 6 has finally launched in India. Just before the Indian release, the company had launched this phone in Europe in mid-May as Asus 6Z and now the company has shipped this phone of the same name in the Indian Market.
The main highlights of the Asus 6Z include a motorized rotating camera module that converts from a rear camera to a front camera, a full-HD+ display, and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC.
Asus 6Z Specs
The all-new Asus 6Z features a 6.4-inch FHD+ (1080×2340 pixels) IPS display with 19.5:9 aspect ratio, 92 percent screen-to-body ratio, 600 nits peak brightness and 100 DCI-P3 color gamut. Furthermore, the screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 6 protection to protect the screen from minor scratches.
The smartphone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 octa-core SoC which is based on 7nm fabrication process and coupled with Adreno 640 GPU. Moreover, it comes with 8GB RAM and with 256GB inbuilt storage (UFS 2.1 storage technology) which can be further expanded up to 2TB. via a dedicated MicroSD card.
In the camera department, the Asus 6Z has a motorized camera module that includes a 48-megapixel main shooter with Sony IMX586 sensor, f/1.79 aperture, laser focus module, 1.6-micron pixel size that uses Quad Bayer technology, and a dual-LED flash module.
There’s also a secondary 13-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera with 125 degrees and real-time distortion correction to correct barrel distortion typically seen on wide-angle cameras.
As mentioned, this motorized camera automatically rotates up to 180 degrees to work as a selfie camera. Asus says it has unlocked the Cam2 API on the Asus 6Z, which allows users to take advantage of third-party camera apps. HDR Enhanced Mode and Super Night Mode have also been added by Asus.
The best thing is that the user can control the rotation of the camera which allows the user to take pictures at the desired angle. The company has also added drop protection for the camera module, which will automatically pull the camera to its base position if the phone detects sudden movement.
Apart from this, the Asus 6Z runs on the latest Android 9 Pie over Zen UI 6. The company also promises to upgrade it to Android Q or Android R as soon as it becomes available to users. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac (Wi-Fi 5), Bluetooth 5.0, GPS/A-GPS, FM radio, NFC, USB Type-C, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
The Asus 6Z also incorporates stereo speakers at the top and bottom positions. It is fueled by a 5,000mAh battery with 4.0 fast charging. The company claims that the Asus 6Z will provide at least 33.5 hours of battery backup once on a full charge. It also supports up to 10W reverse charging via a USB Type-C cable. An 18W Quick Charge 4.0 charger will be included in the box.
Asus 6Z Pricing And Availability
In India, the Asus 6Z is priced at Rs. 31,999 for the 6GB RAM / 64GB storage variant, Rs. 34,999 for the 6GB RAM / 128GB storage variant, and Rs. 39,999 for the 8GB RAM / 256GB storage variant.
As for availability, the Asus 6Z will go live on its first sale on June 26 via Flipkart. It will be available in Midnight Black and Twilight Silver color variants.
