CahDroid | How to Fix Blurred Images in Photoshop – No matter how professional you are at being a photographer, some of the pictures you take can be blurry.

You can re-capture the image, but if you find out too late or have only one chance, you can delete the image using Adobe Photoshop.

For designers and photographers, Photoshop is an indispensable application for adjusting images.

Fortunately, this software also lets you remove blurry images. In this guide, we will create two of the most effective methods you can use to remove blurry images in Adobe Photoshop.

How to Fix Blurred Images in Photoshop

Method 1. Remove blurry images using a shake reduction filter

  1. The first thing you have to do is open the image you want to remove blur from in the Photoshop application.
  2. Then on the top toolbar menu click Filter.
  3. In the menu that appears, click Sharpen and select Shake Reduction.

  4. Drag the corners of the blurred part to adjust it or click the circle to drag it.
  5. Open the Advanced panel.
  6. Click on Add Suggested Blur Trace.

  7. Select the Details magnifier to focus on the more blurry areas.
  8. Use the Enhanced At Loupe Location icon to change the focus automatically.
  9. Apply blur traces.

You can now find and review non-blurred images in the Shake Reduction dialog.

With a shake reduction filter, Photoshop automatically finds one area of the image with high edge contrast and wraps this part in a dotted line called a blur trace.

Photoshop only creates one blur trace, but creating multiple blur traces will give you a sharper image. You can also save a blur trace for use on a different image using the Load option in the Advanced panel.

Method 2. Remove Blurred Image With Extra Layer

  1. Open the image you want to unblur in Photoshop.
  2. Press the CTRL + J combination to duplicate the background layer.
  3. Open the Layers panel and select Layer 1.

  4. Go to Filter and select Other.
  5. Select High Pass.high-pass-filter
  6. Change the blending mode to Hard Light.
  7. Set the Opacity to a value that looks good on the image (ideally 100% or 50%).

The Shake Reduction Filter is our method of choice for removing image blur in Adobe Photoshop. Also for some images, leaving the default values and blur traces gives better results. Creating and adjusting blur traces manually works better for other images.

Extra layers also work great when you’re removing blurry images in Adobe Photoshop. Hope this guide was easy to follow.
